A smokebox numberplate, 34055, from the Southern Railway Battle of Britain Class 4-6-2 No 21C155 built at Brighton in July 1947, officially the 1,000th engine built there, and named FIGHTER PILOT, becoming BR 34055. Allocated to Stewarts Lane by January 1948 and later Nine Elms, Exmouth Junction, Salisbury and Brighton. It spent its last three years from March 1963 officially unallocated until it was withdrawn in the week ending 22 June 1963 and cut up at Eastleigh Works in the week ending 2 May 1964.
