A classic early 20th century GWR 3½" French, brass drum clock in unusually good, complete condition possibly used at Tirydail. Overall height: 5" with feet and hanger. Case, lid and movement all stamped 4842. 8 Day, lever movement between round plates stamped with lion trademark. Dial written G.W.R. Kay & Co. Paris, indicating the retailers (actually of Worcester) while acknowledging its French manufacture. The record card for this number survives, marked two timepieces bear this number, noting its sale in 1964. Complete with copy of record card, and winder. £450-500 |
