A smokebox numberplate, 32449, from a London Brighton & South Coast Railway C2 Class 0-6-0 No 449 built by Vulcan Foundry, Works No 1416, in October 1894. It was rebuilt with reduced boiler mountings and reclassified to Class C2X in January 1912 and became SR 32449 and BR 32449. Allocated to Horsham by January 1948 and later Redhill, Brighton and Three Bridges from where it was withdrawn in the week ending 17 June 1961 and cut up at Ashford Works within a fortnight. Ex loco condition. £450-700 |
