A worksplate, BUILT 1951, CREWE, from a (LMS) Class 2 2-6-2T No 41296. A well known Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway engine, its sheds included Highbridge, Bath Green Park and Templecombe from where it was withdrawn on 7 March 1966 and sold for scrap to Cohens at Morriston on 6 April 1966. Cast iron, 10½"x6", the front cleaned and repainted. (Hugh Ballantyne Collection) £200-350 |
