A late 19th or early 20th century wall-hanging, weight-driven, Scottish longcase regulator clock claimed ex-NBR from Dalmeny. Overall height: 61". Mahogany case with replacements and modifications, stripped and re-finished. Full-length panelled door with lock (no key) and shaped base. Forward sliding hood with top-hinged, glazed dial surround without sight ring. No evidence of the normal LNER Ivorine number plate. Brass plate to base of trunk engraved: Station clock from Dalmeny station Scotland c. 1890. 13" dial written Jas. Ritchie & Son Edinburgh with seconds ring. Substantial regulator movement with deadbeat escapement and Harrison�s maintaining power, fitted with slave drive (no corresponding hole in backboard), synthetic gut line and winding at 3 o�clock. Complete with cast iron weight, wood rod seconds pendulum with unusually substantial cylindrical brass cased lead bob and winder. £800-1200 |
