A worksplate PECKETT 1508, 1918, from a standard gauge 0-4-0ST, new to Foster, Blackett & Wilson Ltd, Tyne Lead Works, Hebburn-on-Tyne, Co. Durham. Sold in April 1932 to Priestman Whitehaven Collieries Ltd. Wellington Colliery, Whitehaven, Cumberland where it was named THURNHAM. Transferred to William Colliery, Whitehaven by August 1933 and passed with the colliery to the NCB in January 1947. Loaned at various times to Ladysmith washery until transferred towards the end of 1965 to St. Helens Colliery, Siddick. Scrapped on site by John Roper (Workington) Ltd in April 1968. Engraved brass, 15¼"x8½", lightly polished, surface marked. £250-400 |
