A nameplate, PRINCE ALBERT, from the GWR 4000 Star Class 4-6-0 No 4042 built at Swindon in May 1913 and named after the second son of King George V who was to become King George VI. It spent its BR days at Bristol Bath Road from where it was withdrawn on 8 November 1951 and cut up at Swindon Works in the four weeks ending 29 December 1951. The right hand side plate, the top beading punch marked R4042. £8000-12000 |
