A worksplate, ARMSTRONG WHITWORTH, 1296, 1936, from a LMS Class 5 4-6-0 No 5241, which became BR 45241. Allocated new to Chester LM on 31 August 1936, its later sheds included Perth, Carlisle Kingmoor, Carnforth, Crewe North, Stoke and Crewe South from where it was withdrawn in the week ending 16 September 1967 and sold for scrap to T.W. Ward at Beighton on 20 November 1967. Cast brass, 8¼"x5", the four corners replaced and the front repainted. £100-200 |
