| Lot 279 | A South African Railways cabside numberplate, 3531, from a 3ft 6ins gauge Class 25 4-8-4 built by the North British Locomotive Co, Works No 27391, in 1954 and built with condensing apparatus. Almost the whole class had their condensing apparatus removed between 1979 and 1982, including No 3531, and were re-classified as Class 25NC with the NC initials added after the class on the cabside numberplate. Cast brass, 20¾"x14½", the front cleaned and repainted. £500-800 |
