A worksplate W.G. BAGNALL 2084, from a 3ft 0in gauge 0-4-0ST new in 1918 for the Ministry of Munitions for use by the Board of Trade Timber Supply Co. By September 1919 it was located at Longtown Sawmills, Longtown, Cumberland. Sold by auction in June 1924 to William Wear & Co Ltd. dealers of Hexham. They resold it around January 1925 to Dorman Long & Co Ltd. Port Clarence Works, Co. Durham, where it was overhauled and sent to work at Dorman Long�s Burley Ironstone Quarries, Oakham, Rutland. Resold around May 1929 to the Consett Iron Co Ltd, Butsfield Ganister Quarry, Co. Durham where it was scrapped in October 1951. Cast brass, 6¼"x4", in ex loco condition. £200-300 |
