Auction Catalogue: Great Central Railwayana, 2 June 2018

Lot 249 |
A Pullman chair used on a car working on the East Coast Main Line, original blue moquette, with a little wear in places but generally good. This chair was purchased by the late Dick Hardy who used it in his study for over five decades. Hardy started work with the LNER as a premium apprentice, later becoming shedmaster at Woodford Halse and later Stratford. A fine example in its own right, its later history is the ownership of a prominent and much loved railwayman and author makes this a rather special item. £800-1200 |
