A worksplate, LONDON & NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY, 8144, REBUILT STRATFORD WORKS, 1937, from a Great Eastern Railway T77 Class 0-6-0 No 1144 built at Stratford in October 1916, becoming LNER J19 Class No 8144, renumbered 4654 in 1946, becoming BR 64654. It appears that the rebuilding in 1937 referred to on the plate consisted only of alterations to the grate and superheater dimensions. A long time Cambridge engine, it was withdrawn from there on 25 January 1960 and subsequently scrapped. Cast brass, 9"x5", the front repainted. £300-400 |
