A (GWR) cabside numberplate, 3409, from a 9400 Class 0-6-0PT, the last of the class built by the Yorkshire Engine Co, Works No 2584, as sub-contractors for the Hunslet Engine Co, who also allocated their own Works No 3739. Allocated new to Cardiff East Dock on 12 October 1956 and later Radyr from where it was withdrawn on 23 October 1964 and taken for scrap by Cashmores at Newport on 18 February 1965. Cast brass, the front repainted. The plate is accompanied by paperwork relating to its purchase from Swindon Works £400-600 |
