A worksplate, LONDON NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY, 1782, DONCASTER, 1933, from a LNER O2 Class 2-8-0 No 2431 built in December 1933, renumbered 3956 in 1946, becoming BR 63956. Allocated to March by January 1948 and later Doncaster and Grantham from where it was withdrawn on 8 September 1963 and sold for scrap to William Rigley & Sons at Bulwell Forest. Fully engraved brass, 13¾"x7¾", the front lightly polished, the back stamped 3956. £200-350 |
