A worksplate, NORTH BRITISH LOCO Co, ATLAS WORKS, 22239, 1919, from a 2-8-0 built to Ministry of Munitions order for the Railway Operating Division of the Royal Engineers to Robinson's Great Central Railway design in June 1919, ROD No 2149. Loaned new to the LNWR as LNWR 2843 until August 1921, it went into store at Queensferry until December 1923 when it went to the LNER as Class O4 No C6300. It was renumbered 3894 in 1946, becoming BR 63894. Allocated to Annesley by January 1948 and later Colwick and Mexborough from where it was withdrawn on 11 July 1960 and cut up at Gorton Works in the week ending 20 August 1960. Cast brass, 9½"x6¼", the front repainted. £350-500 |
