| Lot 160 | A smokebox numberplate, 48463, from a LMS Class 8F 2-8-0 No 8463 built to Railway Executive Committee order by the GWR at Swindon and loaned new to the GWR at Cardiff Canton in December 1944. It was then loaned to the LMS in April 1947 at Huddersfield and taken into BR stock the following year. Its later sheds included Toton, Hereford, Swansea Paxton Street, Llanelly, Gloucester LM and Bath Green Park from where it was withdrawn on 25 June 1964 and taken for scrap by Cashmores at Newport on 15 December 1964. Repainted. £300-500 |
