A smokebox numberplate, 30917, from the Southern Railway V Class Schools 4-4-0 No 917 ARDINGLY built at Eastleigh in May 1933 and named after Ardingly College, an independent school in West Sussex. A long time Ramsgate engine, it finished its days at Nine Elms and Brighton from where it was withdrawn in the week ending 24 November 1962 and cut up at Eastleigh Works in the week ending 27 April 1963. The front repainted. £1200-1500 |
