| Lot 140 | A worksplate, VULCAN FOUNDRY, 2494, 1909, from a 5ft 6ins gauge 2-8-0 supplied new to the North Western Railway of India, their No 1631. It later became East India Railway No 2072, then India Railways No 26935 and finally HGS Class No 26744 from which this plate was removed at Sitarampur shed in November 1975 when the engine was still in service. Cast brass, 9½"x5½", repainted, the back marked with the locomotive history. £150-300 |
