A worksplate, LONDON & NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY, 6379, 1925, from a LNER D11 Class 4-4-0 No 6379 built by Kitson & Co, Works No 5380, in August 1924 and named BARON OF BRADWARDINE after a Scottish nobleman in Sir Walter Scott's novel Waverley. It was renumbered 2672 in 1946, becoming BR 62672. A long time Eastfield engine, it was withdrawn from there on 8 August 1961 and cut up at Heatheryknowe. Cast brass, 9"x5", the front repainted. £700-1000 |
