A smokebox numberplate, 9406, from a GWR 9400 Class 0-6-0PT built at Swindon in May 1947, one of the first ten of the Class built by the GWR at Swindon, the remaining 200 being built for BR by private contractors. Allocated new to Old Oak Common, it moved in May 1951 to Slough and in September 1963 to Southall, returning at the end to Old Oak Common from where it was withdrawn in the two weeks ending 26 September 1964 and despatched for scrap to Birds Commercial Motors at Risca on 27 November 1964. The front repainted. £300-400 |
