| Lot 415 | A South African Railways cabside numberplate, 2531, from a 3ft 6ins gauge Class 19D 4-8-2 built by Borsig, Works No 14648, in 1937. A versatile Class, the 19Ds had extensive use on every system of the SAR and were one of the last steam classes to see regular service in South Africa. Cast brass, 20½"x14¼", in ex loco condition with scoring in places. £250-400 |
