| Lot 407 | A South African Railways cabside numberplate, 3253, from a 3ft 6ins gauge Class 23 4-8-2 built by Henschel, Works No 24207, in 1939, the last of the Class being placed in service less than a month before the outbreak of WWII. The whole Class was withdrawn in the 1970s. Cast aluminium, 20¾"x14½", the face polished, otherwise original condition. £100-200 |
