A worksplate, BEYER PEACOCK, REBUILT, 1920, from a South Eastern & Chatham Railway Class E 4-4-0 No 497 built at Ashford in 1907. It was rebuilt by Beyer Peacock in 1920 and re-classified to Class E1, becoming SR 1497 and BR 31497. Allocated to Stewarts Lane by January 1948, it spent most of its BR days at Bricklayers Arms from where it was withdrawn in the week ending 22 October 1960 and cut up at Ashford Works in the week ending 26 November 1960. Cast brass, 10"x5 1/4 ", in ex loco condition. £250-400 |
