An East African Railways nameplate, MOUNT NYIRU, 9203 FT, from an EAR Class 59 4-8-2+2-8-4 Beyer Garratt No 5921 built by Beyer Peacock, Works No 7652, in 1955. The Class just survived into 1980, by then part of Kenya Railways. The nameplate is accompanied by its brass cabside and front numberplates, the one 24½"x9", the other 17½"x6½", with some distortion, and brass EAR letters, each 8½" deep, mounted on a backboard, as attached to the bunker.
