A nameplate, RALPH BROCKLEBANK, LNWR Co., CREWE WORKS, MAY 1913, from a London & North Western Railway Claughton Class 4-6-0 No 1159 which became LMS No 5906 and was withdrawn in February 1937. It was named in July 1913 after a Liverpool area Director (1882-1895) of the LNWR, a shipping magnate who was a partner in Brocklebank Line, the famous shipping company operating out of Liverpool. Engraved brass, length 73¼", lightly polished. £7000-9000 |
