A smokebox numberplate, 30253, from a London & South Western Railway M7 Class 0-4-4T No 253 built at Eastleigh in June 1897. It spent most of its working life in the West Country and was allocated to Exmouth Junction by January 1948, moving in March 1951 to Barnstaple Junction from where it was withdrawn in the week ending 7 October 1961 and cut up at Eastleigh Works in the week ending 18 November 1961. Repainted, a weld repair to the left of the first number. £500-800 |
