| Lot 282 | A 2½“ gauge live steam locomotive, LNWR, Whale Experiment Class, 4-6-0, 61, Atalanta, in plain unlined black. Twin inside cylinders, possibly gas fired, with, regulator, pressure gauge, screw reverser which works via closing wishbones on inner connecting rods, sight glass with drain down tap. Fuel input into coupling under cab floor cab thence into under boiler tubes via sealed boiler backhead, no visible means of filling the boiler so this needs exploring. Safety valve loose on boiler top and valve lifter missing, safety valve cover loose fitted. Six wheeled tender has water tank with hand feed pump (no extension handle) clear space in tender for a gas tank connected via hole in tender floor, flexible connectors missing. All buffers sprung and drop link couplings front and rear. A good condition model, some parts require securing. £300-500 |
