A worksplate, NORTH BRITISH LOCOMOTIVE Co, 25142, 1944, from a War Department Austerity 2-8-0 built in July 1944 to Ministry of Supply order, WD No 7271, later 77271. Loaned to the LNER in May 1947 and allocated to Newport NER, it was purchased by BR in December 1949, becoming No 90348. Its BR sheds were Rose Grove, Accrington, Mirfield, Wakefield and Sunderland from where it was withdrawn on 9 September 1967 and sold for scrap to Hughes Bolckow at Blyth. Cast white brass, 13¼"x5½", in ex loco condition. £200-300 |
