A GWR cabside numberplate, 6820, from a 6800 Grange Class 4-6-0, KINGSTONE GRANGE, built at Swindon in January 1937 and named after a former monastic grange, now a country house, at Thruxton, six miles south of Hereford. Allocated to Pontypool Road by January 1948, its later sheds included Ebbw Junction, Worcester and Cardiff East Dock from where it was withdrawn in the week ending 10 July 1965 and sold for scrap to Birds Commercial Motors at Morriston on 25 August 1965. Cast brass, the front repainted. £1500-1800 |
