A (GWR) cabside numberplate, 7924, from a 6959 Modified Hall Class 4-6-0 built at Swindon in September 1950 and named THORNYCROFT HALL after the Hall at Chelford near Macclesfield now used as a conference centre. Allocated new to Westbury on 29 September 1950, where it spent nine years, and later Taunton, St Philips Marsh, Bristol Barrow Road and Oxford from where it was withdrawn on 31 December 1965 and taken for scrap by Cashmores at Newport on 24 May 1966. Cast brass, in ex loco condition. £1000-1500 |
