A nameplate, POULTON GRANGE, from a GWR 6800 Grange Class 4-6-0 No 6843 built at Swindon in October 1937 and named after Poulton Grange Farm six miles east of Cirencester. Allocated to Tyseley by January 1948 and later Carmarthen and Goodwick, it spent its final seven years at Llanelly from where it was withdrawn on 26 February 1964 and sold for scrap to George Cohen at Morriston on 24 April 1964. Original condition. £6000-8000 |
