A smokebox numberplate, 1019, from the GWR 1000 County Class 4-6-0, COUNTY OF MERIONETH, built at Swindon in April 1946 and named when built after the Welsh county. Allocated to Penzance by January 1948, its later sheds included Newton Abbot, Stafford Road, Swindon, Neyland and Shrewsbury from where it was withdrawn in the week ending 9 February 1965 and taken for scrap by Cashmores at Great Bridge on 8 January 1964. Ex loco condition. £1000-1500 |
