| Lot 487 | A smokebox numberplate, 44137, from a LMS Class 4F 0-6-0 No 4137 built at Crewe in 1925. Allocated to Skipton by January 1935 and then Hellifield and Holbeck, it later spent over twenty years at Saltley before finishing its days as a shunter at Crewe Works from where it was withdrawn in the week ending 27 February 1965 and sold for scrap to Birds Commercial Motors at Long Marston. Ex loco condition. £300-500 |
