An industrial locomotive numberplate C.B.E.S. No 8, from a standard gauge 0-6-0T built by Robert Stephenson & Hawthorns, Newcastle, Works No 7067, in 1942, and supplied new to the City of Birmingham Electricity Supply Department, Hams Hall Power Station, Coleshill, Warwickshire as their No 8. The company was nationalised on 1st April 1948 and eventually became part of the Central Electricity Generating Board. Transferred in December 1966 to Nechells Power Station, Washwood Heath, Birmingham, and sold for scrap in June 1972. Cast brass, 30"x10½", the front repainted. £350-500 |
