| Lot 429 | A GWR cabside numberplate, 3816, from a 2884 Class 2-8-0 built at Swindon in March 1940. Allocated to Newport Ebbw Junction by January 1948 and later Cardiff Canton, Banbury, Stourbridge, Tyseley, Aberdare, Neath Court Sart and Severn Tunnel Junction from where it was withdrawn in the week ending 10 July 1965 and sold for scrap to Birds Commercial Motors at Long Marston on 25 August 1965. Cast iron, repainted. £500-800 |
