A nameplate, MORFA GRANGE, from the GWR 6800 Grange Class 4-6-0 No 6866 built at Swindon in March 1939 and named after a Cistercian monastic grange attached to Strata Florida Abbey in Cardiganshire. A long time Tyseley engine, it was withdrawn from there in the week ending 29 May 1965 and taken for scrap by Cashmores at Great Bridge on 20 August 1965. £6000-8000 |
