A North Eastern Railway silver plated coffee pot by Elkington. The side engraved with the, NER, REFRESHMENT DEPARTMENT, DARLINGTON, belted garter within a decorative shield.. The shield on the other side, originally plain has had a later presentation inscription added. To Prue Leith from her friends in Travellers Fare, Sept 1985. Overall height 7½". Prue Leith was on the Board of Directors of British Transport Hotels and spearheaded a campaign by BR to introduce improved catering and famously to bury the image of the curly sandwich. £150-300
