A nameplate, BRITISH HONDURAS, from the LMS Jubilee Class 7P 4-6-0 No 5602 built by the North British Locomotive Co, Works No 24160, in April 1935 and named on 7 May 1936 after the former British Colony on the eastern coast of Central America now known as Belize. Allocated new to Crewe North on 23 January 1935 and then Edge Hill, it spent most of its career at former Midland Railway sheds including Derby, Bristol Barrow Road and Millhouses with its final three years at Newton Heath, Wakefield and Holbeck from where it was withdrawn on 18 March 1965 and cut up by Drapers at Hull on 2 and 3 July 1965. £7000-9000 |
