A worksplate, HAWTHORN LESLIE, 3951, 1938, from a standard gauge 0-6-0 pannier tank with inside cylinders new to Consett Iron Co at Consett Iron Works, County Durham with running number A No 3. An unusual design of long-boiler locomotive used extensively at Consett. Later transferred to Derwenthaugh locomotive shed, Swalwell, returning to Consett in October 1947. Scrapped circa June 1960. Cast brass, 13"x8½", in ex loco condition. £150-300 |
