A worksplate, ROBERT STEPHENSON, 2915, 1899. This plate covered the rebuilding by RS of Kitson 2510 of 1883, an 0-6-0 pannier tank with inside cylinders for the Consett Iron Co at Consett Iron Works, County Durham, running number A No 6. It passed to the NCB on 1 January 1947 at Derwenthaugh locomotive shed, Swalwell, where it was renumbered 42. The boiler was transferred to a sister locomotive at Derwenthaugh in the summer of 1966 and the remainder scrapped on site in the August by D. Sep Bowran Ltd of Gateshead. Engraved brass, 13½"x8", the front lightly polished and characters painted. £300-500 |
