A worksplate, LMS BUILT 1939, CREWE, from the LMS Princess Coronation Class 4-6-2 No 6228, BR 46228, DUCHESS OF RUTLAND, built with streamlined casing, removed in 1947. Allocated new to Camden, it spent most of its working life there and at Carlisle Upperby and Crewe North from where it was withdrawn in the week ending 12 September 1964 and cut up by Cashmores at Great Bridge during the week ending 9 January 1965. Cast brass, 10¼"x6", the front repainted, the ex loco back stamped 6228. £200-350 |
