| Lot 466 | A South African industrial locomotive cabside numberplate, DOUGLAS COLLIERY No 2, from a 3ft 6ins gauge Industrial 12A class 4-8-2, a copy of the South African Railways Class 12A but unsuperheated, built new for New Douglas Colliery for long hauls to Vandyksdrif in the Witbank coalfields. In 1977 it was transferred to Witbank Colliery for the Wolverkrans colliery branch. Cast brass, 17"x12", the front repainted. £300-500 |
