A nameplate, HUSSAR, from a standard gauge 0-4-0ST built by Andrew Barclay, Works No 1441, in 1919, which went new to Stafford Coal & Iron Co Ltd at Fenton, Stoke-on-Trent. In 1934 ownership of the Company was transferred to Settle Speakman & Co Ltd and in about 1939 this loco moved to their premises at Queenborough Wharf on the Isle of Sheppey in Kent. It was scrapped on site in August 1962 by M. Lynch & Co of Strood. Cast brass, 28½"x6", the front cleaned and polished but with the original red paintwork, the back untouched. £500-800 |
