A worksplate, GREAT NORTHERN RAILWAY, DONCASTER, 1549, 1922, from a GNR Class J23 0-6-0T No 226 built in December 1922, one of the last batch built at Doncaster before the Grouping. It became LNER J50 Class No 3226 and was renumbered 8925 in 1946, becoming BR 68925. Allocated to Ardsley by January 1948, it moved three months later to Copley Hill from where it was withdrawn on 8 January 1962 and cut up at Doncaster Works. Fully engraved brass, 12½"x7½", unpolished; the back stamped 226 and 3226. £500-800 |
