A worksplate, LONDON & NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY, 2487, COWLAIRS WORKS, 1920, from a North British Railway Class K 4-4-0 Glen No 503 named GLEN ARKLET after the Scottish Glen on the east side of Loch Lomond. It became LNER D34 Class No 9503 and was renumbered 2487 in 1946, becoming BR 62487. A long time St Margarets loco, it was withdrawn from there on 10 September 1959 and sold for scrap to J N Connell at Coatbridge on 28 October 1959. Cast iron, 9"x5", the front repainted. £150-300 |
