| Lot 317 | A smokebox numberplate, 65870, from a North Eastern Railway Class P3, LNER J27 Class, 0-6-0 No 2348 built at Darlington in May 1922, renumbered 5870 in 1946, becoming BR 65870. Allocated to Stockton by January 1948, its later sheds included North Blyth, Middlesbrough and Thornaby with a final year back at North Blyth from where it was withdrawn on 12 October 1964 and received for scrap by Hughes Bolckow, also at Blyth, on 14 December 1964. In ex loco condition; a crack by the left bolt hole at the edge. £300-500 |
