A worksplate, BEYER PEACOCK, 6639, 1930, from a South African Railways 3ft 6ins gauge GL Class 4-8-2+2-8-4 Garratt No 2352. These were the most powerful steam locos to operate on the SAR. All were withdrawn by 1972 and No 2352 was returned to the UK and displayed at the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester. Cast brass, 18"x9½", the front cleaned and partially repainted. £200-350 |
