A cabside numberplate, NATIONAL RAILWAYS OF ZIMBABWE, 1215, DE2, from a 3ft 6ins gauge Class DE2 1-Co-Co-1 diesel electric No 1215, one of a class of thirty-five locos built for Rhodesia Railways by English Electric at its Dick Kerr Works at Preston between 1955 and 1958. It became part of the National Railways of Zimbabwe on its formation in 1980, retaining its RR number, and was subsequently scrapped. Cast aluminium, 18¾"x12½", in ex loco condition. £250-350 |
