| Lot 139 | A smokebox numberplate, 47658, from a LMS Class 3F 0-6-0T No 16741 built by Beardmore, Works No 406, in 1929, renumbered 7658 in 1934, becoming BR 47658. Allocated to Crewe South by January 1935 and later Birkenhead, Chester, Tebay, Stoke, Uttoxeter and finally Crewe Works where it operated as a Works shunter for nearly five years until withdrawal in the week ending 8 October 1966. It was despatched for scrap to George Cohen at Kettering on 23 January 1967. Repainted. £300-500 |
