| Lot 87 | A worksplate, LMS, NCC, 1932, BELFAST. No locos are listed as being built at the Northern Counties Committee Works at York Road, Belfast in 1932 and only one is listed between 1929 and 1934 which is No 4 GLENARIFF, a 5'3" gauge U1 class 4-4-0 later renumbered 4A and withdrawn in 1949 which is listed as a 1931 build, so it seems likely this plate is from that loco as often plates can be one year different from records. Cast brass, 10½"x6", the characters polished, otherwise original condition. £300-500 |
